Race For The Prize

Race for the Prize by The Flaming Lips is a song about determination. All in all, The Flaming Lips say that one will do virtually anything to get what him/her wants. Some of this song talks about competitiveness, I know this by the line "locked in heated battle for the cure that is their prize." Their competitiveness drives them to do nearly anything to win the prize. Coyne demonstrates this by saying "But it's so dangerous, But they're determined." and "It will kill them." It is safe to say that if it will kill them, then they will do anything for it. Therefore, people not only live to win but also win to live.
